PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS IN DETERMINING THE PROCEDURAL STATUS OF MENTALLY ILL PERSONS IN CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS

This article analyzes the legal status of individuals with mental illness in criminal proceedings, examining some gaps in current legislation and their negative consequences. The author substantiates the need to introduce a special procedural status for such individuals.
