PRONUNCIATION AND ORTHOGRAPHY OF AFFRICATES IN INTERVOCALIC POSITION

This article analyzes the use of affricate sounds in the Uzbek literary language and its dialects. Particular attention is paid to orthographic as well as phonetic-phonological issues related to affricate sounds, and several approaches to resolving these problems are proposed. Based on the observations, conclusions are drawn regarding the complex and composite nature of affricate sounds and the manifestation of this feature in different pronunciation processes.
