Abstract

This article analyzes the distinctive features of the military strategy and tactics developed during the military campaigns of Amir Temur. Particular attention is paid to the high level of training of Sahibqiran’s army, the specialization of combat units, methods of besieging and capturing fortresses, the use of engineering structures, the excavation of tunnels, the employment of siege weapons such as manjaniq and arroda, and the conduct of military operations under complex natural conditions. Using the capture of the fortresses of Takrit, Kemah, Birtis, Bitnir, Nishapur, and Baghdad as examples, the article highlights the importance of strategic planning, engineering thinking, reconnaissance, patience, and unexpected tactical methods in Amir Temur’s military art.
